Jurgen Klopp seeks improvement
Borussia Dortmund coach Jurgen Klopp is trying not to read too much into his side's slow start to the season and admits they are still trying to find the form they showed at the end of last term.
The Westphalians may have fancied their chances of glory this season after coming from nowhere to almost clinch a place in the Europa League last term.
But Klopp has realised that his team is having to "start from scratch" this year, and it is not quite going as planned with one win, one draw and a defeat from their opening three games of the season.
"Our start to the season last year was hardly a display of refined football," he admitted.
"You can see that a season always has to start from scratch. Our procedures are not perfect, but I am confident that we will get there."
Facing Eintracht Frankfurt this weekend gives him even more reason to be optimistic since they proved to be one of Dortmund's and in particular Tamas Hajnal's preferred opponents last season.
The Hungarian had a hand in all of his side's six goals scored over the home and away matches last term and Klopp hopes this can be a positive sign.
"With the right attitude and the memory of last season, it will lift him to an excellent performance," he suggested on the club's website.
Dortmund earned a promising draw against Stuttgart last weekend and Klopp expects his team to "latch onto that performance" at the Wald Stadion.
Their hosts are without defender Patrick Ochs, who is suspended for this game after picking up a red card last weekend.
Christoph Spycher should come in and take his place in the team tomorrow afternoon while his compatriot Pirmin Schwegler has recovered from a knee injury and should also return to the Frankfurt team, which is one of only five to still be unbeaten so far this season.
