AL-Fahim reassures Ppmpey fans

Sulaiman Al-Fahim has reassured Portsmouth's fans that the club's takeover remains firmly on track.

Fears have escalated recently as the deal is yet to be completed and it had been claimed the takeover was on the verge of falling through after Al-Fahim missed owner Alexandre Gaydamak's seven-day deadline to seal it.

Fans feared the club could even be placed into administration, however all remains calm in Al-Fahim's camp after he watched their season-opener against Fulham.

"The takeover is still on course, and in fact has never strayed off course," said spokesman Ivo Ilic.

"That is why he was there and I think the white coat was a statement of intent."

Manager Paul Hart, who saw his side lose 1-0 to Fulham, is trying to keep his players in the picture but knows little more than most.

"I treat the players with respect and try to keep them informed of what's going on," explained Hart.

"Of course, the players want to know what is happening. They ask questions and I try to give them answers.

"But I can only give answers to the questions I know the answers to...it's all getting a bit like Fawlty Towers."
