Ezequiel Munoz dreams of Seria A

Boca Juniors teenager Ezequiel Munoz has said he would welcome a move to Fiorentina after confirming the Serie A club were in talks to sign him.

Munoz confirmed Boca and Fiorentina have been in negotiations, with reports in Italy suggesting the Viola were close to completing a transfer for the 18-year-old Argentine central defender.

Munoz, who was also linked to Italian giants AC Milan this summer, told calciomercato.com: "I know that both (Fiorentina and Boca Juniors) club executives are negotiating.

"I am calm. It would be wonderful to play for Fiorentina but the decision will be taken by the clubs.

"If the transfer is completed, it would be a beautiful opportunity for me because Fiorentina is a very good club but if it doesn't materialise, I will be equally happy because a club like Fiorentina has shown an interest in me."

Munoz admitted he felt privileged to be rated by the Florence-based outfit, considering he is recovering from a cross-ligament injury in his right knee sustained earlier this year.

"When I found out, I couldn't believe it," Munoz said. "I thought that perhaps they had made a mistake.

"Its difficult that a club like Fiorentina would be interested in someone like me, who is injured and with limited (two) appearances in Argentina's first division.

"For me this is an honour."
