Jens Lehmann wants more signings

Stuttgart general manager Horst Heldt has warned Jens Lehmann not to get involved with the club's transfer dealings after the goalkeeper demanded more signings.

Lehmann, speaking after Stuttgart lost to Wolfsburg in their opening game of the campaign, claimed the club had to bring more players in if they are to stand any chance of being successful this season.

But Heldt has told Lehmann it is the club which decides on signings.

"Jens is an important player who speaks his mind, but nobody dictates here how the club acts in this situation," he said at a press conference.

"We have our plan and we make the decisions."

Heldt added that just one defeat did not mean more players were needed.

"Our strategy is not set out over 14 days," he explained. "We do not make it dependent on one victory or one defeat.

"We have always said that we would remain open to anything up to August 31."
