Nancy at top of the Ligue
Nancy claimed a thumping 4-0 win at home to Monaco to go top of Ligue 1 on Saturday.
Two second-half goals from Paul Alo'o Efoulou sealed a convincing victory after an earlier Issiar Dia effort and an Andre Luiz penalty.
The hosts won their first game of the season last week at Valenciennes and now find themselves ahead of Bordeaux at the top of the table on goal difference.
Bordeaux held off a second-half fightback from Sochaux to record a 3-2 away win.
Wantaway striker Marouane Chamakh opened the scoring on the half hour mark and Wendel added a second for the champions a minute before the break.
Sochaux came alive after the interval and Charlie Davies gave them hope but that was dashed by Chamakh's second of the night nine minutes from time, although the American doubled his tally in stoppage time.
Lyon are two points further back on four - along with Paris St Germain and Lorient - after summer signing Bafetimbi Gomis' first goal for the club gave them a 1-0 home win over Valenciennes.
Gomis, who joined from St Etienne last month to help fill the void left by Karim Benzema's departure to Real Madrid, headed the winner in the 37th minute.
The victory was no less than Lyon - who are looking to regain the title they lost last season - deserved for a display of total domination from start to finish.
Only the woodwork and a string of saves from Valenciennes goalkeeper Jean-Louis Leca stopped the home side from running away with the contest.
PSG came from behind to beat Le Mans 3-1 at the Parc des Princes.
Thorstein Helstad stunned the home side with a 21st-minute goal, but Mevlud Erding levelled before half-time and a Frederic Thomas own goal gave PSG the edge before Ludovic Giuly made the points safe eight minutes from time.
A stoppage-time Laurent Kolscielny equaliser saw Lorient snatch a 2-2 against Montpellier, having fought back from two goals down.
Alberto Costa broke the deadlock with a goal on his debut just before the hour mark and Emir Spahic doubled Montpellier's lead in the 66th minute.
However, Kevin Gameiro pulled one back just two minutes later before Kolscielny stole a share of the points.
Lens won 2-0 at home to Auxerre thanks to goals from Kevin Monnet-Paquet (14) and Razak Boukari (59) to leave the visitors still looking for their first point of the campaign.
St Etienne are bottom of the pile, though, after they lost 3-1 at Toulouse in the late kick-off.
Paulo Machado put Toulouse ahead in the ninth minute and second-half efforts from Andre Pierre Gignac and Moussa Sissoko sealed the three points after Emmanuel Riviere had brought the visitors level before the break.
