PSV Eindhoven host Ajax

PSV Eindhoven will again be without summer signing Orlando Engelaar when they host Ajax on Sunday in the first big game of the new Eredivisie season.

The Holland midfielder picked up a knee injury in the second leg of their Europa League qualifier against Cherno More and is out of this weekend's clash.

Title contenders PSV and Ajax have got off to contrasting starts this season.

Ajax, under new boss Martin Jol, sit atop the table as one of just two clubs to have won both their opening two fixtures while Fred Rutten's PSV have drawn both games so far.

The Amsterdammers are level on points at the summit with FC Utrecht, who host VVV-Venlo on Sunday.

The home side are likely to have Nana Asare, Jacob Lensky and Ricky van Wolfswinkel available although coach Ton du Chatinier has tried to dampen the euphoria surrounding his side's strong start.

He told www.fc-utrecht.nl: "We are of course pleased with the points we have but we will approach the third round of games with our feet firmly on the ground."

Feyenoord winger Diego Biseswar is looking forward to facing former club Heracles Almelo.

Biseswar spent a loan spell at Heracles in the 2006/07 season and still looks on the club with great affection.

"It was a season in which I learned a lot," he said on www.feyenoord.nl.

"I still know many people there and look forward to meeting them again on Sunday."

Sunday's other games see FC Groningen host NAC Breda and NEC Nijmegen go to Roda JC.

NAC have made a strong start having taken four points from two games while Groningen lost to Ajax in their last home outing.

NEC crushed Heerenveen 4-1 last time out and will expect to claim another three points at winless Roda.

The pick of Saturday's games sees defending champions AZ Alkmaar visit RKC Waalwijk.

AZ are sweating on the fitness of striker Mounir El Hamdaoui after he picked up a knee injury in training.

AZ lost their opening game of the season but bounced back by beating Sparta Rotterdam last weekend.

RKC are yet to pick up a point and face a tough task in changing that record against Ronald Koeman's men.

Calvin Jong-A-Pin will make a swift return to the Abe Lenstra Stadion as Vitesse Arnhem visit Heerenveen.

Jong-A-Pin joined Vitesse on loan two weeks ago and is relishing the chance to meet up with some old friends so quickly.

He told www.sc-heerenveen.nl: "We will come for three points. My move has gone well so far, I have fitted in well and the coach showed his faith in me by giving me some game time against Willem II.

"After a defeat and a draw we need a win."

FC Twente have made an encouraging start with four points from two games and Steve McClaren will take his side to ADO Den Haag in confident mood.

Also on Saturday, Willem II visit a Sparta Rotterdam side without a goal or a point in two matches.
