Twente moves to the top of Eredivisie

FC Twente moved to the top of the fledgling Eredivisie table after a narrow win at ADO Den Haag.
Blaise Nkufo scored the only goal after 64 minutes as Twente moved on to seven points from three games. Ajax and FC Utrecht can replace them at the summit if they win their games on Sunday.
Winless ADO started well and could have opened the scoring after seven minutes. Pascal Bosschaart whipped in a right-wing free-kick and Berry Powel rose highest but he could only put his header wide.
Twente then took control and went on to dominate the rest of the first half.
Theo Janssen shot wide after 14 minutes before Kenneth Perez set up Bryan Ruiz for a left-footed volley which required a fumbled save by home goalkeeper Barry Ditewig.
Janssen threatened again after 23 minutes with a clever backheel after he had been picked out in the box by an Nkufo burst down the left.
Ditewig did well minutes later to punch clear a blistering drive from Miroslav Stoch.
Twente finally grabbed the goal their dominance deserved when Perez crossed for Nkufo to convert with a crisp right-footed shot from 15 yards.
ADO had two chances to grab a leveller late on.
First, Twente keeper Sander Boschker dashed from his line to block well from Timothy Derijck after Bogdan Milic headed down Ahmed Ammi's cross.
And then in injury-time, Boschker was relieved to see a deflected Ammi shot fly straight at him.
