Sevilla rout Rangers at their own background
Sevilla showed their European pedigree with a 4-1 Champions League victory over Glasgow Rangers at Ibrox on Tuesday night.
Early in the Group G clash, Rangers striker Steven Naismith headed over before Pedro Mendes fired wide.
On 37 minutes Abdoulay Konko bundled over Naismith in the box, but the penalty appeals were ignored by Swedish referee Jonas Eriksson.
In the second half Sevilla showed their class.
Jesus Navas crossed to Konko who scored with a free header on 50.
The Spanish side doubled their lead on 64 when Luis Fabiano crossed to Adriano at the back post and he fired the ball into the bottom right-hand corner.
On 72 Fredi Kanoute whipped in a deep cross and Luis Fabiano got in front of Steven Whittaker to head past Allan McGregor.
Two minutes later Luis Fabiano crossed for Kanoute who was free in the middle and he slotted home.
Nacho Novo scored a consolation for Rangers on 88 when he cut in from the left and fired a superb low shot past Andres Palop.
