Bayern comeback to snatch late goal
Bayern Munich came from behind to snatch a 2-1 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt thanks to a last-gasp winner from defender-turned-striker Daniel van Buyten.
Alexander Meier put the visitors in front on the hour mark, but Arjen Robben equalised for Bayern within 10 minutes.
And Van Buyten saved the home side from more angry whistles from their own fans with a winner two minutes from time.
Hoffenheim remain undefeated at home this season and ended a two-game losing run with a comfortable victory over Nurnberg.
Christian Eichner and Vedad Ibisevic scored within four minutes of each other to give Hoffenheim a two-goal lead after 38 minutes, and then Franco Zuculini made it 3-0 in the 64th minute.
The victory pushed Ralf Rangnick's side into the Europa League spots with 17 points for sixth place.
Mainz easily beat Freiburg 3-0 in a battle of the Bundesliga's promoted sides.
Andreas Ivanschitz opened the scoring in the 24th minute, and captain Tim Hoogland struck twice in the 50th and 85th minutes to give Mainz the points to see them move up to seventh.
A solitary goal by Didier Konan was enough to lead Hannover 96 to victory over Stuttgart , the goal coming after 31 minutes.
Borussia Moenchengladbach snapped a five-game losing streak but could only gain one point in a goalless draw at home against arch rivals Cologne.
On Friday night, Bayer Leverkusen missed their chance to go clear at the top of the Bundesliga table when they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Borussia Dortmund.
The hosts went a goal behind when Lucas Barrios scored in only the eighth minute.
But even after Manuel Friedrich had equalised in the 64th, they could not go on to win and are therefore just one point ahead of second-placed Hamburg - who now have a game in hand.
