Simone Perrotta signs new deal at the capital club

Roma midfielder Simone Perrotta has signed a new contract which will keep him at the Serie A club until 2011.

The Italy international has penned a one-year contract extension with his previous deal ending next summer.

A statement from the club read: "AS Roma and Simone Perrotta have reached an agreement to extend the player's contract until June 30, 2011.

"The player will receive 3.1million euros for the 2010-11 campaign, besides the extras upon reaching the aims fixed for that season."

The 32-year-old, who has been a key player for the Giallorossi since arriving at the Stadio Olimpico in 2004 from Chievo, had recently been linked with a move to Zenit St Petersburg.

Roma also confirmed David Pizarro will remain at the club until June 2013.

The Chilean midfielder, another reported target of Zenit, would have become a free agent in the summer.
