Ten wins for Twente
Eredivisie leaders FC Twente wrapped up their 10th win of the season with a 2-1 victory over Roda JC.
Two goals in the space of seven first-half minutes from Bryan Ruiz and Miroslav Stoch put the visitors in control, but they had to endure a nervy finish after Jeanvion Yulu-Matondo put the hosts back in it 11 minutes after the break.
Balazs Dzsudzsak's fifth league goal of the season settled a low-key encounter at Phillips Stadion as PSV beat Vitesse 1-0.
The Hungary international pounced on defensive uncertainty to slot the ball past keeper Piet Velthuizen in the second half.
Champions AZ Alkmaar's struggles continued as they needed a late goal from Jeremain Lens to see off lowly FC Groningen 1-0.
AZ went into the match having won only one of their last six league games while Groningen were fresh from a 5-1 cup thrashing of Vitesse Arnhem in midweek.
With only five minutes of play remaining, Frederik Stenman fouled Stijn Schaars in the right channel and his free-kick was headed in from close range by Lens.
Heerenveen gave themselves a much-needed boost with a comfortable 3-0 home win over 10-man ADO Den Haag.
Roy Beerens' first-half opener gave the home side the lead before Pascal Bosschaart was sent off before half-time, and Michal Papadopulos' second-half brace secured the win.
NAC Breda finished with nine men but took a hard-earned Eredivisie point from their meeting with VVV Venlo after a 1-1 draw on Friday night.
Things were looking ominous when Robbert Schilder was sent off after just 17 minutes, and Frank van Kouwen put VVV ahead seven minutes before the break.
But despite being down a man for so long, NAC kept fighting and got on level terms through Santiago Leonardo in the 68th minute.
Tim Gilissen became the second NAC man to see red seven minutes from full time, but the visitors hung on to earn a point.
