Barca offers new deal for Carles Puyol
Carles Puyol is considering the offer of a contract extension at Barcelona, according to reports in Spain.
The veteran defender has been with Barca since he was a youngster and has been captain of the club for the past five years.
He was linked with a move to Manchester City over the summer but played down the speculation and revealed he was in talks over a new deal at Camp Nou.
Barca have now presented an offer to the 31-year-old but it is understood that he has yet to give an answer.
Puyol, who has one year remaining on his current deal, is expected to take his time studying the terms on offer.
