Eto promises to Inter

Inter Milan coach Jose Mourinho was dissatisfied after his team's failure to win on the opening day of the Serie A campaign against Bari but new club signing Samuel Eto'o has promised his coach that good times are on the way for the defending champions.

Eto'o did score on his league debut from the penalty spot but could have notched at least one other goal that would have earned a win against the newly-promoted side from the south of Italy.

In the end, Inter had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

"My first adventure at the Meazza stadium has gone really well, better than I expected," said the former Barcelona star.

"I haven't trained with the team that much but I think it has gone well.

"I take the opportunity to thank the fans for the trust they have placed in me and I am certain that in the next few games I will repay them."

By dropping two points, Inter fell behind AC Milan and Juventus as both title rivals won their respective games.
