Cristian Zaccardo wants to return to Italy
Wolfsburg right-back Cristian Zaccardo is hoping to secure a move back home to Italy before the transfer window closes.
Zaccardo has received very little playing time with the Bundesliga champions this season after joining from Palermo last summer.
The 27-year-old, who was a member of Italys World Cup-winning squad three years ago, said: "In five games, including the season and the German Supercup, I have played only five minutes and, on top of it, in midfield.
"It is not an easy situation.
"There is a club in Italy interested in me and if I have to be on the bench here I would rather return to my country.
"The club (Wolfsburg) know of the interest and I expect a decision soon."
Zaccardo, who has been linked with AC Milan, is under contract with Wolfsburg until June 2011.
