Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink turns down Saint-Étienne

Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink is keeping his options open after turning down an offer from St Etienne.
The Dutch striker is currently available as a free agent after being released by Celtic at the end of last season.
Numerous clubs have been linked with a move for the 30-year-old frontman this summer, with Blackburn and Hull said to be keen on taking him to England.
A switch to France has also been touted, with St Etienne holding talks with Vennegoor on Monday.
The Ligue 1 outfit are keen to bolster their attacking options following the sale of Bafetimbi Gomis to Lyon.
They have, however, failed in their efforts to land Vennegoor, with the Holland international keen to explore other avenues.
"I can confirm that we have spoken with St Etienne on Monday," the striker's agent, Rob Jansen, told Voetbal International.
"Jan feels it's too early to make a decision and has turned down the offer."
