Milan sign Flavio Roma, Kalac Released

Kalac, 36. has been at Milan since 2005 but has made less than 60 appearances for the Rossoneri and coach Leonardo is said to be less than impressed with the former Australia international.
Roma, who started off his career at Lazio, has returned to Italy and signed a one-year deal at the Rossoneri.
"AC Milan announce they have rescinded the contract of Zeljko Kalac by mutual consent," read a statement on acmilan.com.
"In thanking him for how much he has given in the course of his time in the Rossoneri colours, Milan give Kalac their best wishes for the future.
"AC Milan also announce they have bought on a permanent basis the sporting rights of Flavio Roma, who has signed a contract until June 30, 2010."
Roma, 35, played nearly 250 games in eight years at Monaco.
Milan have three other goalkeepers on their books - Christian Abbiati, Marco Storari and Nelson Dida.
