Bergmann backs Fromlowitz

Hannover coach Andreas Bergmann has no reservations at all about fielding Florian Fromlowitz in goal for the Bundesliga clash with Werder Bremen.

Germany international Robert Enke misses out due to illness for Hannover, having also been ruled out of the national team's World Cup qualifier against Azerbaijan on Wednesday.

That means Fromlowitz, who was part of Germany's under-21 squad which won the European Championship earlier this summer, will make only his 11th appearance for the Reds.

"He has self-confidence and that is important," said Bergmann.

"Florian is a goalkeeper who knows that he has to prove himself in every training session in case this kind of situation comes up.

"He has trained very hard and I have absolutely no problem playing him.

"He is a very good goalkeeper and we trust him."

Fromlowitz will have to be at his best as he comes up against one of the league's most fearsome attacks in Mesut Ozil and Claudio Pizarro, but Bergmann is sure the last line of his defence will have enough support from the players in front of him.

"They are quality players, but we have strong players too and I am fully convinced that our lads will cope," he added.

"We know what we are up against."

Bremen coach Thomas Schaaf welcomes Markus Rosenberg back into his squad this weekend after a three-month injury absence.

However, with a busy schedule of games on the horizon, Schaaf will not be rushing the Swedish striker back into action.

"Markus has been out for a long time," he said.

"He has worked hard on his recovery, but we know that that is not enough.

"I don't think he is ready enough for this weekend."
