ADO Den Haag stunned by VVV-Venlo
ADO Den Haag let slip a two-goal advantage to draw 2-2 at VVV-Venlo and finished the match with nine men.Wesley Verhoek and Ricky van den Bergh's penalty gave the visitors a comfortable lead with less than half an hour gone.
But Keisuke Honda pulled one back for VVV eight minutes from the break and their chances of getting something from the match increased when Karim Soltani was sent-off for a second bookable offence shortly after the hour mark.
Honda levelled matters in the 76th minute and ADO's misery was complete when Van den Bergh also saw red.
ADO got off to a good start when Verhoek latched onto Berry Powel's cross at the near post and fired them into an eighth-minute lead.
Achmed Ahahaoui had a great chance to equalise minutes later but he blazed over the bar from five yards out.
The visitors doubled their lead in the 29th minute when Sandro Calabro handled the ball in the area and Van den Bergh converted the resulting penalty.
Honda reduced the deficit when he rounded Danny Buijs before playing a quick one-two with Diogo Viana and lashing the ball home.
Van den Bergh could have doubled his tally after the break but sent his free-kick just past the post before seeing another effort fly narrowly wide.
ADO were to rue those missed opportunities as Soltani picked up his second yellow of the day and 14 minutes later Honda headed home the equaliser.
Van den Bergh followed his team-mate for an early bath after he was also shown a second yellow five minutes from time.
However, VVV could not make the numerical advantage count despite an additional seven minutes of stoppage time
